THERAPY

We provide individual and family therapy to address a range of clinical and developmental problems. For instance, we work with children and adolescents experiencing anxiety, depression, adjustment issues, behavior problems, divorce-related difficulties, anger and low self-esteem. Adults who are struggling with parenting responsibilities, or who are finding it difficult to meet family and work obligations, can find strategies to address these life adaptation concerns.

Our therapy orientation is based on an eclectic combination of different approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy and family systems theory. All of our interventions involve collaborating with medical, school and community professionals whenever it is appropriate.

CONSULTATION

Whenever parents provide permission, our clinical interventions include consultation with teachers and school boards as well as medical and allied health professionals who are working with the client. Our model of assessment and intervention involves gathering pertinent information from those who work with the children/adolescents in other contexts. As well, we attempt to provide information that is useful to other professionals who are working with the children on a regular basis.

For older adolescents and young adults, we provide vocational and career guidance within the context of other psychological and psycho-educational services.
